AP Baseball - Spring/Summer 2025

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE PRIOR TO STARTING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS!!!

Welcome to AP Baseball: Where Excellence Meets Fun!

We want to express our gratitude for your interest in AP Baseball, powered by Impact Sports. As many of you are aware, this marks our 5^th season of affiliation with Little League Baseball International and our FIRST season of affiliation with Diamond Youth Baseball (DYB). Committed parents, devoted coaches, generous sponsors, and the continued support of our Ascension Parish Recreation Department have all come together to bring about positive changes!

Over the past four years, our program has seen significant growth, and we anticipate reaching full league capacity with over 1400+ players.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a BASEBALL LEAGUE. While girls/females are allowed and invited to register in our tee-ball through 12-year-old divisions - WE ARE PLAYING BASEBALL!

NEW LEAGUE OPTIONS

The 9 -17-year-old divisions can participate in one of two leagues this season based on our partnerships with Ascension Parish Recreation & City of Gonzales Recreation:

Ascension Parish Little League (APLL) or
Gonzales City Diamond Youth Baseball (DYB)

Players will register and participate in ONLY ONE league, depending on each player’s/parents' expectations for their baseball experience.

Please do your best to register your player in the appropriate division.

Gonzales City Diamond Youth Baseball (DYB)

More typical recreational-type experience
No prior playing experience is necessary
Typically, 8-10 teams per age division with 13 players each
Introduces and teaches basic baseball skills and fundamentals
More opportunities to develop and play multiple positions in the field, pitching, etc.
A showcase will be held only to assess the player's skill level for the league draft, i.e., all players will be assigned to a team.
2 practices per week before regular-season games
2 game days per week, at least 12 regular-season games plus post-season tournament
Regular-season games focus on instruction and skills development. The post-season tournament will determine the league champions
Will offer post-season All-Star experience play through Diamond Youth Baseball

Ascension Parish Little League (APLL)

More typical of a competitive or travel ball-type experience
Expected to have played several seasons, often at a more competitive level.
Typically limited to 4 teams (48 players) per age division
Focus on refining fundamentals and introducing more advanced-level skills.
Begin developing more advanced position-specific techniques.
A showcase will be held in preparation for the draft
1 practice per week before regular-season games (typically Wednesdays)
1 game day per week (typically Wednesdays, possibly some time-limited double-headers). 12 regular-season games. NO post-season tournament
The regular-season standings will determine the league champions
Will offer post-season All-Star experience through Little League Baseball

REGISTER YOU PLAYER:

Regular Registration: $95

**THERE IS NO LATE REGISTRATION THIS YEAR**

*December 1st - December 31st for ages 3-17 years old

*Registration extended until January 31st for ages 14-17 years old

You can easily complete your Sports Connect registration online, 24/7, by visiting www.apbaseball.com.

New Players:

· Create an account: click on the "Register" box located at the top right corner of the AP Baseball website's Home Page

· Once the user account is created, click on the “Player Registration” tab in the menu.

Previous Players:

· Log in using your existing account details and click on the "Player Registration" tab in the menu.

The online process will ensure the player is positioned in the proper age division.

Participation fees are paid online via debit or credit card during the registration process.

Refunds are available through the end of regular registration, minus a 10.00 fee. NO REFUNDS AFTER REGULAR REGISTRATION CLOSES!

Space is limited, so PLEASE complete the registration process AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Once an age division is at capacity, a waitlist option will be offered. Players will be moved from the waitlist into the league on a first-come, first-serve basis.
